Hi Glenn, I really admire your intelligence, independence, and willingness to keep exposing injustice even when the system seems almost immune to accountability. I also know you care deeply about animals and have done real work with dogs in Brazil.

My question is: after covering so many abuses of power over the last 15 years, do you ever feel like it is a losing battle? What keeps you motivated when so much of what you say makes sense, but powerful people often face no real consequences and very little seems to change?

And to keep myself from becoming too cynical, can you point to three meaningful wins from the last 15 years where journalism, public pressure, or independent voices actually helped change something?

There’s a push in Congress to merge the US military and Intelligence Agencies with Israel’s what are your thoughts about this and other than calling our congressional representatives what can we do to stop this treasonous measure

I like that question and want to know what stage the NDAA of 2027 is in.

Graham Platner's dropping out will likely lead to an anti-democratic process replacing him with a pro establishment candidate. The left still seems to have the problem of eating its own and doesn't seem to put up a meaningful fight if someone fails a purity test. Thoughts?

Why do so many people persist in conflating the mainstream, neoliberal, pro-capitalist, corporate-funded Democratic Party with "the Left"?

Lucas Dieter's avatar

My Impression is that there are many normal people that want Graham out without thought to what comes next. Yes it is the establishment, but doesn't seem to be only them. I know there are many aspects of the "left."

Hi, Glenn, my question is, are you ever going to get back to real news reporting and journalism?

No question, just thank you for your work.

98.3% of all criminal convictions in 2022 came from guilty pleas instead of jury trials. ACLU is now an unabashed IC censorship thug. Budget deficits are higher than ever, which makes bribing politicians more lucrative.

President Trump, the great revealer, has exploded any myth of a two party state. Shrub Bush’s protégée, Barry Obama, ran the fourth and fifth terms of The Klan Bush administration. During that period, the Clintons, Bush family, Obama family, Pelosi family, Gore family, and many other career politicians became billionaires while helping nobody.

The Swamp, not drained, is deeper. What has changed under Trump and what is the threat the establishment is still so hysterical over? Petty, passive aggressive attacks on MAGA folks and/or the Trump admin still happen daily. Nominees are still intentionally stalled. The ruling class still faces no consequences for anything.

Hi Glenn -- One of the best parts of your journalism is the willingness to call out hypocrisy. Please share your thoughts on Mitch McConnell, held against Biden, Feinstein, that lady who was in the memory care unit for months, etc. The entire blob is engaged in this latest health lie, including the president. And they all keep getting away with it. Our leaders hate us and insult our intelligence on all fronts (Platner and McConnell). That should be the theme of your show tonight.

Why is it that no politician will answer the question: “what is the proper purpose of government?"

Hi Glenn, I have appreciated your advocacy for moral clarity in discourse, as well as your background in law. Also, I am the son of a criminal defense attorney who instilled in me the strength of our system (presumption of innocence for criminal penalties: more innocent go free > more guilty get their just due).

I hear your X comments on Platner as condemning mob rule and kangaroo courts like X. I agree. However, the interview RT by Sohrab Amari seems to ignore the psychological dynamics of SA victims. Here I am influenced by Rachael Denhollander’s memoir.

Also, burdens of proof differ necessarily between our societal interp and our legal system. They have to. As a fellow parent, you likely agree with me on this: if preponderance means that guy over there has touched other kids, ain’t no way he gets close to mine. AND, I would conserve our high burden in criminal court, where the penalties are so high.

Is your beef with the public acknowledgment by, eg, Ro Khanna that Platner’s accuser is credible? Or is it actually with the political machinations going on? On that last note, I would agree heartily. The establishment hated Platner in part for his concern for justice in Gaza. They should not force him out. I would of course support the judgment of individual donors being choosy with their support (à la me as a parent).

Hopefully, your team can edit this down. Thanks in any case.

I would like to know how much money the US has given Lebanon or loaned to it? Does their foreign minister and president feel indebted to the US?

With the torpedoing of Platner's candidacy, what hope do any of us have to change govt from within? I know he's just one guy in one state but the will of the people, Maine voters, has been usurped by outside forces solely because the issues he raised were inconvenient, those issues now being ignored in favor of tabloid sensationalism. The timing of the allegations, which at this point is all they are, is suspicious as he's been campaigning for over a year and is on the precipice of actually winning. How does a common man or woman with no political experience, no connections, little funding but a strong desire to change the system for the better ever have a chance against the buzzsaw of establishment politics? How can any of us live up to the impossible standards of what is candidate-worthy when all of us have done stupid shit in our past, to be drudged up at a critical moment? Interesting to note that the agencies admonishing us to be offended by Platner's transgressions are the same agencies looking the other way for CURRENT serving members of our govt and THEIR transgressions. It only suits to pursue if the narrative or status quo is threatened.

As I was watching fireworks during our 250th, the thought came to me: Are we going to make it?

Your views would be of interest.

Hi Glenn,

I'd love to know your thoughts about the new and improved Rahm Emanuel. He's very busy traveling the country, being very patient, taking time listening to the little people and their little troubles. He's given Israel a talking to. He's tsk-tsked the multinationals. Has he been enlightened? Transformed? Ready to do the good work for the majority of Americans?

Or is he just a shrewd, cynical political operator holding his nose and doing/saying whatever he has to to get elected? What does he really believe? What does he really want to do with the power of the office?

Did you know that Hitler owned at least seven dogs: Fuchsl, Prinz, Muckl, Blonda I, Blonda II, Blondi, Bella?

Not a question, just a friendly reminder to avoid such names...

I don’t know if this is appropriate for this venue…I’ve been thinking about Thomas Frank since coming across a wonderful, disarming article the other day on yoga’s popularity in Israel in The Baffler, which he created or founded. I first heard about him (I’m pretty sure) in a favorable comment by Glenn a number of years ago. I don’t even know whether you are still interviewing folks but I think he would be a great interview, and amenable with your overall societal/political analysis. While his is a broader view of the travails of our society, he has a way of tying things together in a meaningful, insightful, non-strident way. As he did in The People, NO, a history, going back to the late 1800s and up to today, of the longstanding, consistent efforts and strategies of anti-Populism, a conglomeration of organizations, societal institutions and individuals (including, importantly, the media) working to demonize movements to better serve “the People.” Wishing you well.

Hi Glenn,

I'd like to know why most, if not all, senators have an APAC sidekick with them. I find that very disturbing and really very illegal in reality. That shouldn't be. Why is the United States always kissing butt to Israel for what reason? Why aren't we allied with other countries as much as we are with Israel? What's the reason?

I think it's all to do with money and the banking system and the Federal Reserve, for one, and who controls it. I think this has to change. Your Federal Reserve was taken over in 1913 by a bunch of criminals and we know who they are. It's time to put a stop to it and put it back in the hands of the United States, where it's meant to be under the Constitution, which is where it's supposed to be in the creation of money.

This is very worrisome and I think it needs to be dealt with post haste because all these wars are nothing more than banker wars that always have been banker wars. Who profits? They do. Who are they? The same people that are the APAC sidekicks for all the people in politics.

Question is, what are you guys going to do about it?
