Good article:

Two points:

1. It appears from notes of a January White House meeting that BIDEN was the individual who brought up the Logan Act violation;

2. Most importantly, Flynn’s lawyers WERE NOT given the evidence that the FBI agents did not believe Flynn lied. This evidence was concealed from Flynn’s defense team in violation of Constitutional law (Brady disclosure).

This was a complete set-up by the Obama administration with help and support from Harry Reid and John McCain....

The DEEP STATE IS REAL...and as Chuck Shumer said in January of 2017, you’d better be careful not to cross them because “they have six ways to Sunday to get you.”

I'm not asking Glenn to be a homer, I'm asking him to take off his anti-Trump bias. Glenns anti-Trump bias is pronounced and obvious as demonstrated in any number of interviews he's given over the past four years. By having his bias, he is unable to see the big picture of what's really going on here and he is not beyond reproach. He's got a huge blind spot and therefore can't referee fairly.

You don't have to be a PhD to recognize that this is proof of fraud, in and of itself.

ABC/CBS/NBC/Twitter/WaPo/MSNBC/NYT/Facebook/CNN/Yahoo are committing fraud by maintaining this charade without a single secretary of state certifying results and lawsuits in at least six different states (about to be seven when Virginia goes up for grabs).

Let's just start there and move out from that starting point. This shit about Ben Rhodes is a fucking waste of time.

It isn’t “bias” to have an opinion different from yours. Glenn isn’t “biased” when he criticizes the Trump administration for this or that. I'm certainly not suggesting the Glenn take a pro-Trump position, but he's certainly not neutral and has said as much many times over the past few years. This story about point out the hypocritical nature of the Dems is a waste of Glenn's talents. I'd prefer to see him tackle the real story here and not get stuck in the weeds.

If you want to turn that around on me and tell me that I'm the one guilty of ad hominem attacks when I'm calling out Glenn for his, then you'll be missing the point.

Expand full comment

I thought your comment was sarcasm until I read your other posts down thread and realized you're serious. Anti-Trump bias?? Damn, man, did you read this article? The entire piece is in support of Flynn and his reaching out to foreign officials to smooth the transition to the Trump administration. He was defending the Trump administration.

Greenwald's reason in writing this piece was to point out the hypocrisy in the prosecution of a Trump official for having done exactly what the Biden administration is doing now, according to former Obama official, Ben Rhodes. Why was transition communication between nations a crime when team Trump did it, but it's fine now that Biden's doing it?

That's a good question and I'd think you'd be ok with it being asked. But you seem to be more concerned with why GG isn't covering the "obvious fraud" in the election, which isn't even remotely obvious, if it exists at all. Like Trump, you didn't like the outcome, so it's all a sham. At least Trump has been open for months about how he was going to claim fraud to thwart the will of the people. And that's exactly what he's doing. Why are you so afraid to let it play out? What proof do you have that it's a fraud? You have nothing.

Expand full comment

I did and you parrotting his points is making my point for me. The article is missing the big picture, and the big picture has nothing to do with hypocrisy. I'm actually a fan of Glenn's but when he goes on interviews, his anti-Trump bias is palpable.

Everything we've seen for the past five years has been about one thing, to remove Trump at all costs. The real question is why? Getting stuck in the weeds about the Logan act is a waste of time and energy. We're not asking the right questions.

Why did Twitter/Facebook/Youtube several months ago preemptively warn posters that if they mentioned voter fraud they would be censored? (better yet, ask that question in about eight weeks when the evidence for massive voter fraud will be overwhelming).

Why was the NY Post story censored (seriously ask the question deeply, not just "because they wanted to help biden"?)

Why did FOX prematurely announce AZ and why did they preempt Kayleigh Mcenany yesterday when all she was doing was citing facts?

When are News Anchors interrupting and talking over the POTUS?

Why was Flynn Setup?

Why hasn't Judge Sullivan dismissed the Flynn Case?

Why did the attorneys on Mueller's team destroy their phone data?

Why was the whistleblower statute changed to allow second hand info days before the Eric Ciaramella file his claim?

The FBI has an open investigation into the Bidens over allegations of bribery, etc. why is this not being covered?

I [we] could come up with a list of 100 questions such as these, and they are all inter-related.

Your questions of "Why was transition communication between nations a crime when team Trump did it, but it's fine now that Biden's doing it?" is completely missing the mark. We need to take a much broader perspective.

This is about TREASON. On such a massive scale that it's practically unimaginable. Dicking around with Rhodes' quote is getting lost in the weeds. In the grand scheme of things, it's jay-walking, it's a non-story. Our country is close to being stolen right out from under us and Glenn is pointing out hypocrisy? C'mon man!!

Expand full comment

Yes, it is TREASON, and it is Tyranny. But what are you, or I able to do about it. Glenn is reporting the facts, the hypocrisy, and naming the names. His palpable dislike has nothing to do with reporting, or this article. As far as I know, the FBI still has an open investigation into the Hillary e-mails, the Wiener Lap-Top, and only God knows what else. It is a never ending ocean of investigations that show no promise of being made public. At least, Glen is telling us what he can put his finger on, without shoving it under the rug.

My response to your original post was push back against your claim that Greenwald was anti-Trump, a claim for which you provided not a single grain of evidence. Thankfully, legions of proud and dedicated postal workers weren't about to let that happen, and Trump's anti-democratic skullduggery was sniffed out.

But before Trump trashed mail-in voting, he blasted on-site voting, claiming that hordes of unregistered, illegal voters were swarming polls. All a big, fat lie. Don't forget the Republican committee formed to root out voter fraud that had to shut its case for lack of finding any fraud. The evidence is overwhelming that it's Trump and the Republicans, not the Democrats, who are attempting to cheat the system to win by any means. They are the frauds.

Such as by back-dating the postmarks on ballots received after 11/3? Yeah, we know about that. Whether it was enough to change the election result, I don't know, but that is why we need to *investigate* to find out. After four years of Dems pulling every dirty trick in the book to reverse the results of the 2016 election, we are entitled to at least a few weeks to make sure the 2020 election was legit.

Just remember this: the mainstream media is lying to you about Trump. They lied about "Russiagate". They lied about Charlottesville (Trump specifically excluded and condemned the KKK and Neo-Nazis from his "very fine people" remark, look it up). They are lying now when they say there is "no evidence" of fraud and that Trump's claims are "baseless". They lie, and they lie, and they lie, and expect you to keep believing them.

Either/or thinking is a fallacy. Trump is dangerous because he's completely unprepared for office and uses omerta as the primary means of promotion. Biden is dangerous because he represents the military/industrial/congressional complex as well as the usury law-busting credit card companies based in DE that, by fleecing poor people, perpetuate a state of danger for all of us but specifically local police forces. Huggy, I get your point, but just because every article does not expose the world does not make it invalid. C'mon already.

Trump is dangerous, just ask thousands of kids in US detention that are now in limbo. He is incompetent in almost every way to lead. Of COURSE Biden is more dangerous. But if you think Trump is a savior for anyone but himself, it is you that need to wake up. And as Glenn has written, CHENEY is a true Stalin-like criminal and far worse than all of which Trump has done. Biden was there to vote for most of the worst actions of the CHENEY admin. But once Trump realized the more military action he used the more he was rewarded by those who work for the military complex including the parent companies of the major media, the more willing he was to use that solution. And let's be honest, DEEP STATE is but an obtuse way to refer to banksters and the military industrial complex. Why use it when you could be specific?

Expand full comment

You do have a point. Biden will continue coddling the deep state (See the book by Mike Lofgren.). Trump did try to do that to his credit. Unfortunately Trump's racism and ADD were not a plus.

You have it right but you are missing something worth mentioning that extends the hypocrisy. Not only is the Biden camp doing it, Rhodes is broadcasting that they are doing it specifically with the intention of giving Biden's claim to have won the election more weight. Rhodes cites it to say that foreign leaders are acting as though Biden is the winner. It's one thing to do it, it's another to use it as a tool to lever your contested claim forward.

As an aside, Biden is also using something near to the official seal of POTUS as part of his "Office of the President-Elect" insignia. That is also being used to lend gravitas to Biden's claim. Until that claim is certified by the states, I believe he's in violation of 18 U.S. Code § 713. "Whoever knowingly displays any printed or other likeness of the great seal of the United States, or of the seals of the President or the Vice President of the United States,.... for the purpose of conveying, or in a manner reasonably calculated to convey, a false impression of sponsorship or approval by the Government of the United States or by any department, agency, or instrumentality thereof, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both. Of course, my dear Chris, Bibi is famous for being a Turncoat. That's his very nature. He'd sell his own family into slavery within the blink of an eye if he could make sure that would keep him in power.

Bibi has been that way at least for the last 25 years, or, more exactly, for all the world to see since November 4, 1995, the moment when Prime Minister Itzhak Rabin (and with him any hope of peace) was assassinated by the Israeli right-wing extremist Yigal Amir - Bibi remained silent, and from that moment on Israeli democracy began its deplorable decline, having arrived where it is now as Bibi's Divided Israel.

Not much different from the old Roman Emperors of yore: divide and rule. Always works. Actually, not. Almost always (see Edward Gibbon: The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. His writing is exquisite, even if one does not agree with some of his conclusions But I digress, again.... )

I recommend Richard Wagner's epic cycle of four operas, The Ring of the Nibelung. The ever relevant tale of lust, love, hunger for power, betrayal, murder, and, in your words, "whore" politicians and politics. Gods, humans, demigods, dwarfs, the entire creation inexorably led into ruin, wanting "the end", wanting everything to be "over" - yet Wagner's music keeps going, for hours and hours (14-16 of them, depending how quick or slow it is performed), and when it is finally "over", the music comes close to the very key in which the whole drama began.

"Politicians are whores", you say. Indeed. If it were not so, we would haev to cease existing. Worse, there would be no art whatsoever.

Don't waste time by wishing a "chaste" or "pure" politician and politics. That's been tried and failed spectacularly (see Wagner). No matter who does the "whoring", 'twill be ever thus....

Give me a break. The circumstantial evidence is growing massively every single day. The Democrats did everything in their power leading up to the election to spike all controls that actually insure this crap doesn't happen, so providing direct "evidence" is intentionally made very difficult, but between the sworn testimony and the "glitches" that all seem to go one way, there is a serious cloud of corruption over this election. Plus there is always just the 4AM ballot dumps that all went one way in MI and WI, and spiked the counts for Biden, the weird recorded anomalous changes in vote counts where Trump suddenly lost thousands of votes and they materialized for Biden, the hundreds of thousands of ballots for Biden with no down-ballot voting, way outside of the statistical norms, the fact that Biden had zero coat tails while, for all intents and purposes, an actual red wave occurred, so Trump had the tails w/o the coat. So, you cite a partisan website reporting on an attempt to revive a lawsuit that the court already dismissed for lack of evidence. Perhaps it would be wiser for you to wait to see how the court treats this new effort.

You might also want to consider that Biden's lead in Michigan is on the order of 150,000 votes, making the chances that even shocking numbers of fraudulent votes (if they existed) would change the outcome.

And then you throw in a laundry list of unsupported claims. As I keep telling you and others who share your position, you'll never convince anyone who doesn't already agree unless you get much better at persuasive argument.

Al Gore had 37 days in 2000. The Trump campaign is working on it. The election was only seven days ago. I do find it surprising that the Biden camp is not supporting “count every legal” vote request but expect 71,000,000 to unify. That is not going to happen.

Expand full comment

So, no evidence?

You're certainly correct that unification is not in the cards. There are a number of reasons for that, but the essential one is that Americans don't share a worldview or fundamental values. We're not going to come together, because the degree of compromise necessary to allow that to happen is effectively impossible.

Expand full comment

Lots of smoke....lots of it...evidence is something you gather through discovery. What's the big hurry? What are you afraid of?

Expand full comment

OK, let's use the term we use in criminal investigations: probable cause. Share with us the probable-cause basis -- the "smoke" -- that leads you to believe evidence of fraud on a scale that could change the outcome in any state(s) might be found.

And don't worry, no hurry. I'm waiting patiently for your response.

Expand full comment

I posted it above, you will predictable dismiss all of it. I know libs like you. No facts penetrate. You have a desired outcome, and you will do or say anything to achieve it. You patina of patience is interesting considering you're in a massive big hurry to call this election over with. Several key states are within just a few thousand votes and could swing either way with challenges. There are about a hundred thousand votes total separating the candidates across all of the contested battleground states. That's nothing among 140 million votes. Again, I ask, what is your big hurry to call it over? What are you afraid of?

Clearly you don’t work in tech, haven’t examined any of the FOIA and leaked docs about the voting machine hardware and software, have no experience with distributed systems, don’t understand anything about security or encryption or exploits.

Pointing out that using a heterogeneous collection of commodity garbage hardware, EOL’ed Windows OSes, shit like Access Databases, datacards with no chain of custody, unencrypted and unauthenticated communications channels, no penetration testing, no unalterable audit trail, closed, and unpatched “voting machines” is a disaster does not make you a “Trumper” or “conspiracy theorist”. Bugs exist, especially with no testing and in software written by rank amateurs using components wholly unsuited for ensuring the “sanctity” of our Democracy.

It’s not improbable that a data element displayed in a UI has a controller that doesn’t write the correct value to the model aka “vote flipping”. It doesn’t have to be malicious. It’s more than likely the product of stupidity and ignorance of grifters like Diebold.

Such events that change the outcome are entirely possible and even likely based on how porous and fragile this Rube Goldberg machine of “modern” voting is. The more vulnerable points that exist, the easier it is to make the case that there was fraud, even if the supposition is wrong. By using such a towers of steaming shit, you are handing the opposition credible paths of inquiry.

The polling this time around was useless and orders of magnitude incorrect, so using that as a reference point to disprove bogus results doesn’t hold water. Furthermore, it’s nary impossible to audit the votes in any meaningful fashion because of the systems not being explicitly designed to be audited or secure in the first place.

If a Republican attorney asked me to serve as an expert witness and render an opinion as to whether the results by the voting machines can be trusted, my answer would be no. And that answer has nothing to do with political affiliation or a desire to see a specific outcome. It’s based on a forensic analysis of how these systems are built to fail at their job.

If Trump’s attorneys had any brains, they’d attack this from exactly that angle. Haul the vendors in for depositions and elicit answers that create credible and reasonable doubt about the system as a whole. Toyota built software that killed people with unintended acceleration, surgical robots maim patients due to malfunctions, Therac-25 killed patients due to a race condition. And these are all systems designed and built by large teams where safety is the primary directive. Imagine how sloppy two dudes who know Excel, MS Access, and a little SQL would be?

Hand marked ballots, counted in public. That’s the standard that needs to apply. None of this tech bullshit. You eliminate hundreds or thousands of possible objections to the result by removing the weakest link — the machines and the software.

Expand full comment

We voted on hand-marked paper ballots on election day in PA this year. And the 2.5 million mail-ins are obviously hand-marked paper ballots. So there shouldn't be any challenges to the PA vote.

Expand full comment

Maybe we should require voting equipment to be built with open source hardware and software that both parties (and everyone else) can verify? The required functionality is not very complex.

Expand full comment

And that Jeff is exactly how it show be done. It has the smallest attack surface and with observers the greatest transparency.

Expand full comment

Counted in public with the results transmitted by hand and not through machines? If you’re just scanning what’s been hand marked into a proprietary hardware and software clusterfuck, there’s still several points of weakness.

Expand full comment

True. But that means waiting weeks to count 7 million ballots. And thousands of human counters, each of whom is also a point of weakness. At least now we have the paper ballots which can be recounted instead of numbers on a voting machine. And only a few hundred scanners that need to be secured and checked for malware, rather than tens of thousands of voting machines.

Back in 2000 when the hanging-chad disaster occurred (actually the REAL disaster was the Rehnquist court getting involved when it was CLEARLY NOT appropriate, but I digress), I was the lead of a 43 person team in the computer science department at UC Berkeley and we set ourselves to the unofficial task of figuring this kind of thing out.

We determined that it was not possible to secure an electronic vote, no matter what, presuming the requirements were BOTH that it had to be secure AND secret. However, we DID devise a means by which COUNT FORWARDING can be trusted. Here's how:

First, the COUNTS are NOT PRIVATE. So, everyone at a precinct - whether paid elections staff or volunteers - is present for the vote count, and a totaling document is created, format determined in advance along with ballot design, the numbers filled in, it's digitally "signed" via what at the time we called MD5, and today we'd be using SHA1SUM, or something even better, and everyone gets an identical copy of the totals everyone then present agrees was their count for that day. THAT total can be reliably sent anywhere and confirmed by all the staff present.

A simple web site / database pair can be easily created for the participants to ensure THEIR precinct's votes were counted correctly, and the entire tally is open to public purview.

The original paper ballots are still available for recounting as need be, but this removes the possibility of election officials higher up the chain changing the vote totals, such as swapping them between candidates as appeared to happen to Bernie Sanders, whose totals were likely swapped for Hillary's during the CA primary, for example.

And, the same basic strategy can be used all the way up the chain to the federal level, though there are some small hiccups along the way for things like removing local information from the totals as they rise to larger aggregations.

THIS would go a LONG way to helping secure our elections which, of course, is why nothing like this has been done, or likely ever will be unless we somehow get a Progressive President...

You should be able to verify them but we can look at Volkswagen as an example where even that is subject to tampering.

Not that I think the GOP is any great prize, but the stench of hypocrisy coming from the democrats is choking the life out of US society. They destroyed the rule of law to hamstring Trump before he even took his oath of office. Filthy, corrupt bureaucrats were illegally spying on the Trump transition team and setting up process crime stings on his key advisors from even before he took the oath of office, and they're still doing it. They're trying to put General Flynn in prison for a crime they KNOW he didn't commit.

The audacity of democrat leaders calling for "unity" rings hollow when their standard mouthpieces are calling for Trump staffers and supporters to be added to revenge lists. In 2016, democrats proved they were poor losers. Now they are proving that they are even worse winners. The threats, the lies, the blatant double standards are wearing on the public's last nerve. Even if the vote counts are accurate, the years of lawless abuse of the FBI, intel services, the warping of whistleblower rules, the shoddy impeachment process, the slanted polls, the light speed calls of states for Biden before even 10% of the votes were counted and the extraordinary foot-dragging to call states like FL and TX that obviously went for Trump, half the population of the US will never consider Biden a legitimate POTUS. What half the country considers the democrat party to be is a privileged cabal of evil, lawless scum at the top and brainwashed, amoral conformists at the rank and file level who take orgasmic pleasure at hating their fellow Americans and doing them harm at any opportunity purely for profit and sport.

No giving up their guns. And people will begin to ignore any fascist double standard EOs delivered by Biden to punish the kind of people democrats hate for sport.
