I've lived in New England for my whole life and feel a similar way.
It's such a nice place to live and the majority of people are great, so it's really just baffling that our political situation is always such a clusterfuck.

This is because We, The People are not in control, and the oligarchs have learned how to completely "game the system" - well, one key to that is to write the rules the way they want!
We need Progressive policies like never before, and its urgent. But even what the media errantly calls "Progressive" usually isn't! Progressives gave us the 5 day work week, 8 hour work day, etc, and aspire to helping us all have a living wage for full time work, universal access to health care and other steps of, you know, _Progress,_ ... not toppling of statues and arguing over gender pronouns. (Those latter people are neo-liberals, _not_ Progressives, by the way.)

Progressive is just a nice way of saying Marxist
Yes, for the propagandists it is.
The practical "propagandists."
